Hello
Checkpoint supports DPDK ?
Regards,
William
I find your question useless - Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) is a set of data plane libraries and network interface controller drivers for fast packet processing, currently managed as an open-source project under the Linux Foundation. It has an Environment Abstraction Layer to help making programming hardware independent. So if you are a developer you can use it in your software projects. 8)
CheckPoint GAiA itself is a hardened RedHat Linux and i would assume that it is of no further importance if CheckPoint does use DPDK data plane libraries and network interface controller drivers or not as this only of statistical importance and does make no difference at all to the user, i mean you...
Others vendors use DPDK in VM's products and I want to know if Checkpoint too use or will be use.
What I want or don't want to know is my problem.
Not currently.
Yes, but currently only on Check Point appliances that have a Lightspeed card, and the new Quantum Force (9000/19000/29000) series of appliances.
DPDK is used on these appliances starting in version R81.20 (and R81.10 Jumbo HFA Take 81+).
The new architecture UPPAK (userspace performance pack) also called Usermore SecureXL introduced in R81.20 and supported on certain new appliances is built using DPDK.
