BGP Route issue on 1430 appliance

Is there a way that dynamic BGP route could be the prefered route over a physically connected route?    This is happening on one on my gateways.   I cannot establish a BGP neighbor to the physically connected switch, because the traffic is following the default route (learned thru BGP)out  a VPN interface.     I can verify this by doing a traceroute to the ip of the connected switch.  But am looking for some guidance on how to troubleshoot.  This is also on a 1430 SMB appliance so its not easy to see the BGP configuration.

You do know the CLI commands to use here, as found in Check Point 600/700/1100/1200R/1400 Appliance Guide Advanced Routing p. 6 - 32 ?

That is the most sensible thing to do in such a case - Advanced routing is a rather very advances topic 😉
