Adding Secondary Management Server and resetting SIC? How disruptive is this?

Hi Check Mates,

We have set up a new Management Server, and renewed SIC with all the gateways, so they are now talking to the Management Server.

We now need to renew SIC with the Secondary Management Server

Will this have any impact on the SIC with the Gateways? Will we have to go through the SIC process with the gateways again, after configuring SIC to the Secondary Management Server?

If you only reset sic on the secondary management host object, it should not affect your GWs.

For primary server migration it's better to use migrate_server export next time, so the sic will be migrated as well with all DB, and no need for reset SIC.

Assuming there was no secondary server, you will also need to ensure that the the secondary SMS object is added to each gateway as an alternative log server and SMS for policy pushes, also suggest ensuring that at a GAIA level the new SMS is whitelisted.
