Management API n00b question

Hello mates,

just beginning to understand the management API and i have now following question:

I want to list all gateway objects with IP addresses to write them into a text file.
As i did not find any ressources like "beginners guide" yet, maybe anybody can answer this little question as a starting point for my learning?
I want to use the mgmt_cli command and integrate it in little scripts for daily Business.
