Elastic XL Return Traffic

Traffic received to SMO(GW-1) from Server-1. SMO calculate distribution (General) and send that packet to GW-2 for processing. GW-2 process the traffic and send to Server-2. Server-2 send response packet to GW-1 and again GW-1 forward that packet to GW-2 for processing. How GW-1 forward response packet again to GW-2?

Can you please explain me this, how this work?

I think it's just doing Distribution again on the reply packet. It's the same IP addresses that get fed into it, so the same result comes back that says the packet has to go to gateway 2. If there was NAT or anything else involved, the correction mechanism would work there too.

I was going to deploy elastic XL in production, so i was just testing and want to know how return traffic flow to exactly that GW where traffic was processed.
