Cluster XL Load sharing unicast mode Traffic forwarding interface

In the cluster XL  Load sharing unicast mode, pivot forwards the traffic to other cluster members for processing.

Can someone please tell me how does it forwards the traffic ? I mean which interface it uses to distribute the traffic to other cluster members? Is it sync interface or a data interface on which traffic arrives at pivot for decision making ?

It is the data interface not sync:

Packets arrive to the pivot cluster member. Then, the pivot cluster member forwards most packets to the non-pivot cluster members for inspection on the same interface where the packets arrived. To avoid MAC confusion, the pivot cluster member changes the source MAC address.
