Migrate secondary management to new hardware

Greetings. We are preparing to replace our aging Smart 1 5050 with a new 700M Plus. R82 Take 39 has been installed on the replacement unit to match what is at DR. I am aware the recommendation is to delete the existing object, re-create with the same name/IP and establish SIC with the new hardware and then sync. However, given that the existing object is used in 38 places, is it absolutely necessary to delete it first? Anyone tried this before as a shortcut? Thanks.

You don't need to delete the object. Just reset SIC and edit the object with the correct platform for your secondary and if it's at the same OS/Take level than the Primary, it should be sufficient. You can then trigger a sync.

You're probably aware but Take 39 is old and there's the issue of the leap year offset.
