Dear Support Team,
I've running MacOS Big Sur 10.11 beta version. Please advise whether you have available compatible beta version of MacOS Big Sur 10.11 for testing purposes?

Hello, I am running macOS 11 Big Sur and would love to do testing. Specifically the endpoint standalone client. As our company use Checkpoint to encrypt all our USB sticks.

I do confirm checkpoint version E82.50 for macOS Catalina works perfectly on macOS Big Sur. No issues have been stated so far. It works even better on macOS Big Sur.

Dears all,
This is actually not 100% true that E82.50 works perfectly with Big Sur.
In my case, the tool need to do the step "Enforcing Firewall Policy" and this one is failing in Big Sur (because of the lack of access to the system I guess)
Do we have any update on a beta test version ? I would like to test my application on Big Sur, but not being able to use the VPN prevent me to work effectively 😞

Working and formally supported are different things.
Note the most current version is E83.20, which I recommend trying.

Thanks PhoneBoy, I didn't know about this new 83.20 And I just downloaded and installed it.
However, I do confirm in my particular case that this is not working. The client is not able to "Enforce Firewall Policy"
I need to add that the same setup on Catalina works without issue (82.50 or 83.20 now both tested)
Regarding my previous comment, I know it is not supported and aren't complaining about that, I know it will come in due time. Am just saying that I can report at least one bug while alangrig was stating that "No issues have been stated so far."
If I can help with detecting issues with my specific work environment, I will be happy 🙂

I have VPN connection via checkpoint and connection works on Big Sur. Really don't care much about Enforce Firewall Policy, because the one kills for me really important function: making FaceTime audio call via iPhone. Really sad, the Enforce Firewall Policy kills some important functions on Catalina!

Can someone raise this with Endpoint as a ticket? I need to test also - and cant wait till GM comes out and then god knows how long before Endpoint actually release a compatible version. Isnt that the point of having a BETA so they can remediate apps so we dont have to wait?

The only "ticket" you could file for this is an RFE since it's not currently a supported release.
I'll check with R&D on what the plan is here.
I also highly recommend engaging with your local Check Point office around this.

Thanks for your comments.
No ticket is needed. We are aware of this. Recently released E83.20 doesn’t yet support this future OS. It will be supported with the next major release.
We are actively working on Big Sur beta versions to add support for Big Sur for quite some time already.
This is not a matter of a simple configuration as Apple did substantial changes on the underline OS.
This support will be available with the next major release.

I got a message from the admins... he said its not available yet - we are making it availabe according to this
Not promising -its not even in the list.
Not sure why Apple provide Beta for software developers to work on - and wait till it is released before fixing it.
Insane.

As @Lior_Arzi said, we've already started working on it.
While Big Sur is not listed in sk115192, it does provide our general guidance when it comes to supporting new OS versions from Apple/Microsoft:
- Early Availability: about 3 weeks after the OS version goes GA
- General Availability: about 2 months after the OS version goes GA
Given the significant changes Apple has made in Big Sur and how we integrate into the OS, the timelines may be longer.
In any case, until Big Sur is formally released, it is unlikely we'll release early availability code publicly.

I haven't been able to make MacOS Screen Sharing to work with newer version than 80.89.
I hope you address this as well in coming release for Big Sur

adding a reply here to follow the the thread. Becoming more pertinent as Bug Sur just released (oh was that a typo?) Excited to tell the mac client how quickly they can upgrade their OS with checkpoint endpoint.

Hi
Our general guidance for new OS version support is listed on sk115192:
- Early Availability: about 3 weeks after the OS version goes GA
- General Availability: about 2 months after the OS version goes GA
We will make Big Sur support available according to those guidelines (although there is a good chance we will make it available earlier).
Note there is already a Technical Preview Private Beta for this coming version supporting Big Sur. As a Technical Preview is has some limitations and it is intended for your evaluation and not for wide production deployment. Those who are interested can contact TAC to receive it.
Thanks
Lior

Hello @Lior_Arzi,
I do need to upgrade to Big Sur, this is a remote workstation that is a Mac. How do we contact TAC?
Also, is it known that the current version of E83.20 will not work? Or is it hit or miss?
The problem is, once I update the OS I don't know of downgrading, and after which I would no longer be able to connect to have corporate access.
Thanks,

TAC Contact Details: https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/
Note that your company must have a support agreement in place.
No guarantees that E83.20 will work with Big Sur.
I strongly encourage you to wait on upgrading your Mac until we release a version that is confirmed to be compatible with Big Sur.

FYI, I tried to contact TAC but apparently they don't know about this Technical Preview Private Beta.
So either someone as a link, or we have to wait a few weeks (don't forget to uncheck your "install update automatically" )
