MTA and hybrid exchange

We currently have an on premise exchange server, but we're looking to migrate to o365 exchange, likely with a hybrid step before going full cloud.

 

If we go full cloud, how would we configure the MTA for this, or would we need to change to the cloud MTA?

 

if going a hybrid onprem/cloud deployment, do we need both MTA and cloud MTA, or will we be fine with just our on prem MTA?
