What's New? Product News | June2024

Hi, CloudGuarders,
Here is the monthly update on the new and exciting releases!

What's new in CloudGuard WAF this month?

  1. New – WAF as a Service:
It is now possible to consume CloudGuard WAF without the need to deploy an enforcement point!
All your web traffic simply needs to be routed via DNS configuration through Check Point’s WAF SaaS cloud.
      * WAF SaaS Points of Presence (PoPs) are already available in multiple regions: Europe, United States, Japan.
      * For full details, visit our dedicated documentation.
  2. New – API Discovery:
API Security has been taken to the next level. API discovery automatically detects the schema of your API thus making the maintainability of API security much easier.
      * API Security provides security by visibility as it will also detect API with sensitive data, and APIs that should not be exposed.
      * API Security interfaces with CloudGuard WAF’s Schema validation, providing the schema to validate, and continuously detecting changes that need to be added to the schema as your API evolves.
      * For full details, visit our dedicated documentation.
  3. New – WAF Reports via emails:
It is now possible to create a “Report” type trigger object and assign it to protected assets.
      * The trigger object allows a configuration of a daily/weekly schedule and a list of email addresses, a graphical summary report of detected traffic and WAF activity, will be sent to.
      * For full details, visit our dedicated documentation.
  4. WAF Gateways improvements to OS Boot time and Auto-scaling in AWS:
      * VMware and AWS WAF gateway deployments now have improved boot time.
      * It is now possible for a scaling event in an AWS auto-scaling group not to be dependent on Internet connectivity to Check Point's cloud.
          * When WAF gateway is deployed as an auto-scaling group the new instance must get its software and policy. It is now possible to define an S3 bucket to be used for this and prevent the dependency on Internet connectivity to Check Point’s cloud during scaling events.
          * During deployment (v1.2406 in AWS marketplace) new fields allow configuring a new/existing S3 bucket.
          * The new v1.2406 version in AWS marketplace also enhances stability and resiliency during traffic spikes.
          * For full details, visit our dedicated documentation.
  5. Various Bug Fixes.
