Azure HA Firewalls R82 Jumbo T103

Hello, checking the patch notes for the R82 Latest Jumbo Hotfix Take 103, I have seen this note:

PRJ-65094,

PRJ-63808

Cloud Firewall

UPDATE: Azure VM sizes v2 and v3 are no longer supported. During installation of Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator or in-place upgrade, this message is now displayed: "The Azure VM size {VMsize} is deprecated for upgrade. Refer to sk183693 for details".

If I understand this note correctly, it means if the VM running the Azure HA Firewall in Azure Portal is showing 'Standard_D3_v2' under Size: on the overview page, then that means we cannot update to Take 103?  Would Take 91 be supported then?  And in order to go higher, we have to resize?

I believe Standard_D3_v2 was the default and recommended option when we deployed this from Marketplace before, but I'm not 100% sure of that.  If I am correct that it was the default option, then quite a lot of customers may have issues with this?

So my question is, is resizing the VM possible, or would we have to redeploy and migrate our production and public IP over to the new cluster?

The SK mentioned links to Microsoft instructions on resizing the VM.
I'd say, yes, you can resize it.

v2 is pretty old. New default is D4ds v5.

In general I suggest resizing to this size, but this depends a lot on your needs.

I suggest taking this to consideration while resizing the machines.

Kind regards, Amir Senn
