Half is Not Enough
Good morning
we have MDSs that In “stopping “, I have cleared CPMIcache, reboot the MDS, stop and start the MDS and still they are in that state. It is preventing us from assigning policy and making use of the CMA for troublehooting purposes and still nothing works. We have 3 MDSs and the main one works but the secondary ones do not. Would the issue be because the service has stopped? I am going to check it with the command you listed above. Thanks
Ideally share some screenshots so it's easier to understand what do you mean by MDS stopping.
This is the state of several of our CMAs
mdsstop;mdsstart ?
Good afternoon Jozko, No that did not help. The status remained the same after mdsstop;mdsstart. When I tried to start in manually from the dashboard. I get the following error. I did shutdown the MDS manager before running the commands.
Hi,
What version you are running? Try to install the latest Jumbo Take.
We are on JHF317. We were at j292 and was told the the upgrade to 317 would fix the issue but it did not.
So you are running R77.30, you say it says it is in stopping state, is that as seen in the MDS GUI?
What does mdsstat tell you when you run that from the CLI on the MDS?
Does the CMA start when the MDS is started and when does this problem occur?
reboot ?
Reboot did not work.
I even did mdsstp -m, waited a few then restated.
Freddie!
License is all fine ? Not expired or removed ?
What is output of "mdsstat" ?
Did you try re-install R77.30 smartConsole on Windows machine ?
Good morning
License is all good, mdsstat shows all CMAs and MDSSs up, our MDS I run the the CP appliance. No, I did not reinstall 77:30 smart console on the windows machine.
How can that affect sync between the MDS?
I do clear the CPMI cache on the windows machine.
Freddie!
Ahh, I also see the one thing I missed, MDSs you are running in full HA?
is this state on both members or just on 1 of the 2, what if you do a full sync between them?
They are running in full HA.
No. I have not done that. How do you do that?
I'm sorry I do not use HA so cannot help you there, but in the past I did set it up and remember that you need to sync per CMA, but I think that others that do run HA can tell you where to find this.
Thank you Martin. I will look into that on my end as well while waiting for other’s input.
Freddie
