FW Monitor in the background

What is the best way to run a "fw monitor" in the background.

I am in expert mode, and I did run 'fw monitor .... &" to get it to run in the background. But upon disconnection and reconnection, jobs doesn't show it in the background.

The job is there when I ps-aux | grep it but I can't seem to bring it into the foreground using fg

Thanks
