SmartCenter on NUTANIX – Increase Disk Space

Hello,

I have a customer who currently has two R81.20 virtual machines, SmartCenter and SmartEvent, deployed on a VMware environment.

The customer is planning to migrate these two virtual machines to a Nutanix environment.

I am not very familiar with Nutanix, so I am currently investigating the topic.

One of the issues I may encounter when creating the Check Point virtual machines from the image is the disk size. From what I understand, it may need to be increased.

After doing some research, I found two SK articles that seem relevant to my case: SK94671 and SK156552. However, SK94671 only applies to VMware, whereas SK156552 also applies to Nutanix.

I assumed that I would follow the procedure described in SK156552. After reviewing it, I understood that my situation would fall under the section titled "Increase the Disk Size of an Already Deployed Cloud Firewall VM".

However, within this section, there is a step called "Stage 2: Extend the disk (Cloud Portal)", which provides procedures for Azure, AWS, GCP, and OCI, but nothing specific for Nutanix.

If anyone has already increased disk space on a Nutanix environment, I would greatly appreciate any feedback or shared experience.

Thank you.

The basic procedure involves creating a new disk volume and adding it to LVM configuration.
While sk94761 mentions VMware, the Gaia parts of the procedure should work the same with Nutanix.
