Smart-1 Cloud Add Gateway

Hello,

I am in the process of migrating a sonicwall and i would like to stage my checkpoint gateway and management remotely and then to install it on the remote site. 

I am thinking to create a vlan on the gateway which resembles the one that the customer uses. Then i will add the gateway to the cloud management. What i need to know is which ip should i use in order not to alter things after. I have already given internet access to the gateway. This access is temporary and will not be used in the future. So please let me know if i have to add the gateway on the cloud management with the temporary ip or it would be more wise to use the internal one that resembles the real network.

I think you answered your own question here already. the second option is better. Try keeping your staging as close as possible to the production version.
