multiple security feature enable on gateway

Hi community

Could anyone tell me about the gateway firewall

if the gateway firewall enables many blades on

Ex: Firewall blade, IPS, identity awareness, and app control

but app control is not attached to the security policy.

my answer is when the firewall scans for the matching rule will it scan check including app control blade or not?

To clarify you have an R8x gateway without AppC activated in the policy/layers only in the gateway object itself?

Put it this way...IF you say have appc blade disabled on the gateway, but enabled in policy layer, and appc rules are there, rules wont take effect.

If the security policy active on the gateway doesn’t include any App Control elements, then it shouldn’t have any effect.
Having said that, many of the blades use the same infrastructure underneath (IPS and App Control, for instance).
