What does gaia's "System Backup" save/keep?

Hi experts,

I was wondering what exactly are the things being kept by "System Backup" in gaia? How can the file size reach GBs? What is the difference with a simple copy "show configuration" backups? Given a scenario of migrating into a new appliance.
