NTP Configuration on a VSX Cluster

Hello,

I am running R80.10 VSX Cluster on 2 Gateways in Active/Standby, need to configure NTP on the Gateways and Management Server. My Question is : - what is the correct procedure to configure NTP and will it impact cluster configuration ? will it require downtime ?

Thanks

no just use GAIA for Gateway and set NTP servers accordingly (make sure you've got routes towards those NTP hosts, either external or internal).

you can also do that from clish but that require some syntax:

set ntp active on
set ntp server primary xxxx version 4
set ntp server secondary xxxx version 4
save config

that's all 🙂

Make sure to match the version with your servers, nowadays v3 or v4 are mostly in use and don't forget:
set ntp active on
