Upgraded a 5100 standalone appliance from R80.30 to R80.40 by doing a clean install of Check_Point_R80.40_T294_Fresh_Install_and_Upgrade image.
I now cannot login to Gaia OS and I have tried my normal credentials before upgrade as well as admin\admin.
UPDATE: I tried to factory reset and that failed too because some file/folder for an image did not exist. The firewall is now stuck in a boot loop. The boot option to recover from another image will not work because it asks for admin password which is what I don't have to begin with.
You may need to a fresh install.
TAC may have other suggestions here.
Did you do a migrate_server export ? Any snapshot/backup from R80.30 ?
