error after reset L-50WD

Hi to everyone, a friend of mine gave me a checkpoint L-50WD which he no longer uses.

It was previously set for his office, so when i taken it, the first thing i've done was a reset by pushing the reset switch on the bottom of the router.

Unfortunately the result was an error in the end of the procedure, and the router falled in a loop of reboots.

The only way found for see what happened is plug a console cable rs232 and open a console view whit putty.

The log file saved after the failed procedure show the problem, or better, at least a couple of problems:

- one block of memory cannot be write (bypassed automatically)

- the router OS fail the boot when it try to create a certificate authority.

The questions are:

- there is any chance of repair of the second issue?

or

- there is any chance to overwrite the entire software with a clean image in case the recory is damaged?

or

- have any sense (if the point one and two of my request are not possibles) try to save the router by installing a third part OS via Gaia boot menù?

You can try downloading the latest firmware for the 600 series from UserCenter, copy it to a FAT-formatted thumb drive, install said thumb drive in the powered-off unit, then power on.
The system should be reflashed with the firmware image.

The problem that I see in the log file is the Internal Certificate Authority cannot be created.
This is because, until fairly recently, when the ICA is first initialized, the expiration date is current date plus 20 years.
That is now beyond the Unix epoch, which causes the error.

This issue should be fixed in the latest firmware, which would have to be installed as above (from USB drive).

Hi PhoneBoy, thank's a lot for your answer and your suggestion, i tried to download the lastest firmware but without a software subscription seems not possible.

For resolve the "software subscription" problem, i wrote to the account support and now i'm waiting their answer.

The fact is that this unit 00:1C:7F:23:8C:E1 seems to be not attached to any UserCenter Account!

There is some way to associate the router to me and download the firmware (any version, just to solve the problem)?

It requires a firmware update via USB, as noted above.
That's pretty much the only way to recover from this issue.

same problem, how can i download the frimware with out technical support subscription??

so if i dont have a Software Subscription or Active Support plan,

i cant fix it?

The SK I linked to in my post above provides a workaround for the issue.
To get the latest firmware for the device, an active support agreement is required.
