SMB1800 Appliance not connecting other than default port LAN1 on 192.168.1.1

Hi All,

I am having issues with SMB1800 Appliance not connecting other than the default port LAN1 on 192.168.1.1.

this is a brand new appliance and after first-time wizard, I am able to connect to WebUI on https://192.168.1.1:4434 but when trying from Local Lan on 10.242.x.x which is connected via switch port to Appliance.

I can ping to 10.242.1.254 from 10.242.1.10 but I cant browse WebUI, no policy installed yet,

can anyone please help

Maybe this would help you? Check the LAN switch part, maybe all LAN parts are part of one LAN switch? I am just guessing because I have no idea what has been done.

Also have you already updated the firmware? Put the latest image on an USB and reboot the unit.

It will go factory again but then you have a good start (otherwise use webinterface to update).

Hello,

Once you have connected your PC directly to the management interface, you can do initial configuration.

https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/SMB_R80.20.20/AdminGuides/Centrally_Managed/EN/Topics/Connectin...

This includes configuring the management interface to an IP address that matches your LAN. You will also configure the default route and DNS settings.

I may have understood wrong, but from our message it sounds like the management IP address was never changed to an IP on your local LAN.
