Time required for resizing logs logical volume

Hello All,

We have logs volume of 100GB with 64% used in a VM in VMware environment. We want to increase the logs volume by adding new 400GB disk to the VM. Can someone guide the approximate time that would be required to resize the log volume from 100 to 500 GB in order to get an idea of the downtime.

Regards,

Hello Amr,

Thanks for sharing the SK. Actually, I am looking for the approximate time the resize process will take. Is there a way to calculate that?

Regards,

K

This is a bit out of my element, so take the following with a pinch of salt. From my experience since this is VM and no RAIDs are involved I think this should be a few seconds. This is purely logical and no data has to move.
