Snapshot of Mgmt Server

Hi mates,

we are going to upgrade mgmt server from r81.10 to r81.20. What is the preferred way to snapshot? Gaia Snapshot or Virtual System (on ESX) snapshot?

We normally do a shutdown of the SMS, take a VMware snapshot and start the SMS again. With very neurotic customers we do both. 😉

(Remember to delete the VMware snapshot in time. It will slow down the VM and take a lot of time to delete if it stays for long.)

The advantage of the ESX snapshot is that it is independent of the Gaia OS.
