Executing CPM doctor script

Hi experts

I had an issue where our management server CPU utilization reaches 99%. The action plan suggested by TAC was to run CPM doc (cpmdoc.sh) script to gather more data.

I was wondering if executing CPM Doctor script (provided by TAC) would cause any performance impact?

Thank you.

Please seek further guidance from the assigned engineer handling your case.

From memory CPM Doctor can be run in a mode that excludes "heavy" tests if there is specific concern, but that data may be important to the investigation of your issue in some cases.

Alternately you can always run it in an off peak time / during a maintenance window.

Never found it to cause too heavy load - i would suggest to run it during hours with low load on SMS though...

The CPM doc script is a TAC tool used to look for inconsistencies in the object database. If necessary, the isseu are cleaned up in the database. Furthermore, interesting logs are generated for the TAC.
Because here various database operations are performed, therefore is very CPU intensiev.

Tip!

If you have permanently high CPU load on the management server, this can also have the following causes.
- Too many logs sent to the management server
- Log indexer is under very high load
- Hard disk I/O is very high
