how to connect a single mode fiber (LC Connection) into a pair of 6200's

Hello, I am deploying a pair of 6200's using Cluster Xl.

Our provider has given us single mode fiber (using 1 Gbps optics, LC Connector)

Do i need a Layer 2 switch for this connection or can I connect direct into my Checkpoint?

Is it only one single mode fiber connection or two?
If you have only one, then yes, you will need a switch of some sort most likely.

@PhoneBoy it's only 1 per service and we have 3 different services coming into the rack/cabinet.

You will need a Layer 2 switch to connect to your ISP and a VIP from that same subnet.

sk92755 documents the supported interface cards and SFPs but as the others have said Cluster configurations typically require the involvement of switches regardless.

@Chris_Atkinson

Would something like this work?

Probably assuming it's like "most" other L2 managed switches and supports VLANs etc but I'm not familiar with the platform to be able to confirm that.

Typically for a 1Gbps single mode fiber connection you would need an LX transceiver.
