Can I run a R81 Smartevent server with R80.40 management servers?

or do I need to upgrade all of then at the same time?

As part of R81 we upgraded our indexing system to boost queries performance and reports generation time.

In addition, SmartEvent is part of the entire management platform so you need to upgrade it with all other management machines.

Likewise you will not be able to manage R81 gateways with R80.x management.
