Issues with Word, Excel, and Outlook?

Has anyone had any issues with Word, Excel, and Outlook since installing Checkpoint Endpoint Security version 88.60? We have many users experiencing Word, Excel, and Outlook crashing, unable to close correctly, and prompting to open in Safe Mode. We are using a mixture of Windows 10 and Windows 11 along with Office 2016, Office 2019, Office 2021, and Office 2024. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I haven't seen any reports of this and recommend opening a TAC case in parallel.
What blades are active?

We have 2 customers using that version, no issues that I have heard about so far.

Don't forget to upgrade to 88.61 which has a lot of Hotfixes for the 88.60 version.

Hi,

yes we have the same problem with CPEP 88.60 and 88.61. Issue is with one of the CPEP blades (Anti-Ransomware, Behavioral Guard and Forensics) and description of the error can be found in C:\programdata\CheckPoint\Logs\efrsal_inject.log:

The mitigation is to disable blade or start office apps before CPEP starts, We have opened a case with CP.

Did you get a resolution to this? We are having the same issue. We are running E 88.70

We have with the 88.70 no Office apps issues.
By the way, Which version of Office do you use?

We are running Office 2019, 2021, and 2024 on Windows 10 and 11. All systems are having issues when the EFR blade is installed.

We have opened a TAC case and apparently they are aware of this problem with office apps. We have been provided with temporary fix (currently running 88.70 + fix) and issue is resolved in 89.xx

Can you please post the fix, so everyone wil have the option to use it.

Beside policy fix, there is binary patch provided for our version. I suggest you contact TAC.

I currently have an open case with TAC and have not been given any workarounds or temp fixes. Any idea on when 89.xx is going to be released?
