VNF Release timeline for R80.20+ for Cloudguard Edge products

Hello -- can anyone provide release timeline for R80.20+ of Cloudguard Edge VNF for SD-WAN deployments?

Customer has been on R80.xx for years and has tested SMB R80.20 on model 1550 (including various HTTPS decrypt tests).

They want to stick with R80.20.xx SMB platform for SD-WAN VNF and not the older R77.xx legacy referenced in Cloudguard Edge SK (below).

I understand updated VNF's are coming for various SD-WAN platforms but still waiting.   Any chance that SMB GAIA VNF will be updated to something newer than R80.20?

Any insight would be appreciated to set customer expectations.   thanks.

Hi Garrett,

Is there a particular SD-WAN vendor that your customer prefers?

VeloCloud is already certified for R80.20.x.

Aryaka, Oracle Talari, Nokia Nuage, Versa, and Citrix are all very close to achieving certification on R80.20.x as well.

Hope this helps a bit.

BR!

Jeff

hello @Jeff_Engel  -- sincere thanks for reply and insight.

You mention all the vendors except Cisco.     The SK for Cloudguard Edge for ENCS reference versions "R77.20.xx and R80.20.xx" yet the download is only R77.20.

Is there a R80.20.xx VNF available for ENCS with special request?

thanks!

side topic @Jeff_Engel .    The R80.20.xx SMB platform is becoming somewhat "long in the tooth" -- SMB or not.    what is roadmap for newer build?   Will that be a SMB version of R81 in 2021 or something like R80.40.xx?

thanks -GA

The CloudGuard VNF builds are based on Embedded Gaia which is still R80.20.x.
However, that version reflects when it was forked from maintrain not necessarily what features/functionality it has.
Features you think are missing are probably more interesting than the precise code version.
