Swap space in vSEC / CloudGuard IaaS?

Has anyone noticed that it looks like a vSEC firewall has no swap space for memory

even if there is a swap disk available

No problems with memory so far but still something strange...

Hi Tom,

There is SK which explain how to enable the swap memory.

System indicates that there is no swap

Cab you please provide more information regarding which platform you are using this cloudguard IaaS image?

Thanks

Will try to test the SK asap.

OK, sk works but is this normal behaviour or a bug?

Looks like a bug, after a reboot swap space is gone again...

Hi Tom,

I have verified it with Azure owners.

Swapping is disabled in Azure, it is by design.

Thanks

I heard swap was disabled because of possible performance impact if the Azure VM is running on default HDD's but what if you are using SSD?

We are running a SmartCenter in Azure and noticed 14 GB of memory isn't enough. We have to reboot the server sometimes in order to get it performant again. Having some swap would be nice.

Apparently it's commented out in /etc/fstab...so you could try uncommenting it.
