CloudGuard Network Security Gateway for VMWare ESXi documentation

Good afternoon,

I'm reaching out to inquire if anyone might have insights on locating the deployment, installation, and configuration documentation for CloudGuard Network Security Gateway on VMWare ESXi. Despite my efforts to explore the Support Center, I've been unable to locate this information. If anyone has come across these resources and could kindly share the location and procedure, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you very much for your assistance!

Hi,

You can use specific OVA files:

https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk158292

or an ISO of any version we have.

the deployment is the same as any other deployment we have on our appliances or Open Servers. Just read the regular admin guides.

Thank you for that, but I was referring to a user guide on how to configure the VM (including interfaces and network settings) and how to use the firewall.

OVA already has the config you need. You can add interfaces once the machine is deployed. If you want to increase the system parameters defined in .ova file, refer to https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk180334. The same solution can be used to check how VMs are set before the deployment.

Once you deploy a management machine or a standalone image and complete the first-time wizard, yes.

oh, ok. so even if I have a single gateway, do I still need the management server?

I saw there is a standalone configuration that has both, the security gateway and the management server in the same ova "Security Management and Standalone only with default admin password" here: https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk158292

so that's a single OVA with everything that I need, right?

thank you!

Yes, you can use a standalone deployment, although it is not the best practice, if you want to deploy more than a single GW.

yes, you need a management server.

with a Standalone deployment you are getting both in the same box.
