Hello
There are 2 components of the pricing for Log.ic - Ingestion and Retention:
I like to look at it in the table below for simplicity.
Ingestion |
A (monthly retention) |
B (yearly retention) |
1TB |
AAA$ |
BBB$ |
10TB |
CCC$ |
DDD$ |
If you choose the retention of 1 month each log entry will be deleted after 1 month (if you need exact details on how the deletion process works, please reach out via msegal@checkpoint.com).
The retention is not related to how many logs you ingest.
Hope that explains,

Based on my knowledge of other products you have the retention of the logs (1 month or 1 year) which states how much time they will be stored, and then you have de capacity (1000 gb or 10000 gb) which is how many logs can you store.

Hi FedericoMeiners,
How the rotation will be done to maintain the retention?
Supposing that I choose the retention of 1 month:
Log.ic will delete the logs of the past month every first day? or will delete just the last day and maintain aways the last 30 days? or if I have free space my retention periody can be bigger than a month?
Thanks.

Martins,
Most of these products always delete older logs first, doing otherwise would be a strange logic to apply.
Regarding the retention period it would be great if someone from Check Point such as @PhoneBoy could clarify it to us. In most cases retention doesn't have to do with capacity, in other words logs older than 30 days will be deleted even if you don't reach max logs per period.

I would assume that we'd keep logs the shorter of:
- The storage capacity limit
- The storage time limit
However, we should check with someone like @Offir_Zigelman.
