Web API user and Web Portal user

My concern is - are web_api user and web portal users different. I have credential for  https://<mgmt-server>:<port>/web_api/login. can I login to the Web UI with the same credential? or do I need to have another user. Thanks in advance

Are you talking about the Gaia portal? No, those are different credentials.
