Perform backups of the log server in question as well as management servers and SmartEvent (using WebUI).

During maintenance window, change IP address of the log server either via WebUI or CLI:

LogServer> set interface eth0 ipv4-address 192.168.7.31 mask-length 24

LogServer> save config

Reset SIC communication:

LogServer> cpconfig
This program will let you re-configure
your Check Point products configuration.

Configuration Options:
----------------------
(1) Licenses and contracts
(2) SNMP Extension
(3) PKCS#11 Token
(4) Random Pool
(5) Secure Internal Communication
(6) Enable cluster membership for this gateway
(7) Disable Check Point SecureXL
(8) Check Point CoreXL
(9) Automatic start of Check Point Products

(10) Exit

Enter your choice (1-10) :5 [and follow the prompts]

In your management server, edit the LogServer object by:

1. Changing its IP

2. Resetting and reinitializing SIC

From SmartConsole, install database and push policy to all gateways.

This should do it, unless there are some quirky settings particular to your environment that I am not aware of.

If your environment is not a large one, perform snapshots of each Check Point component before making changes.
