I've read during the pre-launch phase that administrators would be able to chat inside SmartConsole. I haven't found this option, yet.
Does anyone know if this option is already available in this release?

I've actually followed up on that, as it was one feature I suggested during early UI testing.
The response I received was that it had been dropped after concerns arose over the need to retain discussions in line with retention policies for other instant messaging applications. Also, given the proliferation of IM applications, it was decided that Check Point didn't need to re-invent that wheel.
This option was planned but is not part of the R80 release.
I do not have information on when it will be available.
