Important! R80 and R80.10
End Of Support around the corner (May 2021)
I need to run a script on SmartCenter whenever policy is installed on specific firewall gateway.
What is the best way of doing that?
So if you have to run the script after policy install on the specific firewall gateway - what is the best way depends, CLI is my choice, R80.20 has the additional option to run it from SmartConsole Scripts menue.
Yes, I know about script repository, my problem is that I want to run script automatically.
Currently I have set up the task for cpd_sched_config to run every 10 minutes, but it is far from optimal solution.
A cron job is the only way to do this in a supported kind. You surely could tamper with scripts used by the policy install process, but why should you ? To run the script automatically would only make sense if the policy install is automatic also.
Yeah, i do like that - especially the passus: Imported from Nokia support database 😉
Just one side note: it takes a while to locate legacy SmartView Monitor utility in R80.20.
Maybe we need to update SK with recipe on how to manage this thing using Management API?
It takes no time if you follow my instructions for legacy SmartView Monitor.
