Gunther I am installing checkpoint firewall R77.30 on my PC and I have given gateway as 192.168.1.1. When I open the browser and proceed for further steps I am getting stuck over page mentioned in screenshot.

You did not give GW as 192.168.1.1, you did define this as the Management IF IP and the GW as 192.168.1.254. This assumes that eth0 is able to reach the GW 192.168.1.254. I do not know how many IFs you have on this - GW ? Or All-In-One ?

I have configured only one gateway. eth0 IF with Ip as given below,

Thanks for the info Chinmaya, I have already done this. This works out only when,

First Time Configuration Wizard

is not opening/loading in any of the browsers.

But, my issue is opening but after clicking next button on the management connection its not going forward.

Is this on a VM? If yes, do you have a harddisk smaller than 80Gb assigned to this VM? If yes, assign a harddisk with minimal 80Gb. I had this problem too in the past with VM’s and it was solved by using a bigger harddisk.

Rick, I have no issues with storage and ram. I have 1TB of storage and 8GB RAM. I have tried giving an 40gb space in VM but still still issue remains same.

40Gb is not enough. Use 80Gb and try again.

Stupid idea but try it... Just wait about 10 minutes on that page and lets see if you will be able to proceed next.

You can also try to change management IP, just to be sure that the issue is not related to that specific IP.

Kind regards,

Have you tried using sk69701 to run the First Time Configuration from CLI?

From Expert, you can run "config_system -t clish.config" to generate a sample config.

Then you can "vi clish.config" and set the desired configurations.

Finally, you would run "config_system -f clish.config" to apply the configuration.

Section 4 of the SK has examples as well.

Wondering if this isn't related: Can't connect to managerment server via smart dashboard

Are you using the latest ISO for R77.30?

I've just built a VM with the latest ISO and I can't replicate the issue with Internet explorer on Windows server 2016.

You could try resetting the required files to prompt the running of the first time configuration again.

"Running the First Time Configuration Wizard again

If for some reason the user needs to run the First Time Configuration Wizard again, then perform the following steps:

Important Note: If this machine was configured as Security Gateway, then it is not recommended to reconfigure it as StandAlone because after performing the below activity and configuring it as a Standalone you will see Security Management Server status as "Attention" in SmartView Monitor with following messages "Error: 'Security Management Server' is not responding. Verify that 'Security Management Server' is installed on the gateway. If 'Security Management Server' should not be installed verify that it is not selected in the Products List of the gateway (SmartDashboard > Security Gateway > General Properties > Software Blades List)."

  1. Login to Expert mode:

    # expert
  2. Delete the special file(s):

    OSVersionFile
    Gaia OSR80 and above
    • [Expert@HostName:0]# rm -i /etc/.wizard_accepted
    • [Expert@HostName:0]# rm -i /etc/.wizard_started
    R75.40 - R77.30[Expert@HostName:0]# rm -i /etc/.wizard_accepted
    SecurePlatform OSR77.30 and lower[Expert@HostName]# rm -i /opt/spwm/conf/wizard_accepted
  3. Reboot the appliance to apply the changes (not required for Gaia OS):

    [Expert@HostName]# reboot
  4. Important Note: If this machine was configured as Security Management Server, and user will reconfigure the machine to be only the Security Gateway, then the following files must be removed from the machine (otherwise, intermittent SIC issues (e.g., 'SIC error no. 147') will arise during policy installation onto this Security Gateway):

    [Expert@HostName]# rm -i $FWDIR/conf/ICA.crl
    [Expert@HostName]# rm -i $FWDIR/conf/InternalCA.*
  5. Next time user logs into the Gaia Portal / SecurePlatform WebUI, the First Time Configuration Wizard start automatically.

Note: The credentials for Gaia Portal / SecurePlatform WebUI are not reset to the default."

If you complete the above, do you experience the same problems again upon reboot?

Hi,

Have you rebooted the gateway and tried after that? I assume u already attempted this.

Quick question, from where you are trying to access the gateway's First time wizard?

Most likely the installation not gone well properly.

Have you tried reinstalling it at any chance??

Thanks, Bala

I know it's a little late, but I used the cryptofox browser with support for old SSL and TLS certificates, and had the same problem.

Using Edge with IE support solved it
