Important! R80 and R80.10
End Of Support around the corner (May 2021)
Hello,
we are having issues with our R77.30 SmartEvent and decided to try R80. I installed R80 on a new Virtual Machine, and added it as Check Point Host to the Global Policy. After re-assigning the global policy, we did an "install database" in some of the domains.
My first attempt to connect with SmartConsole claimed the Management was Read Only. I did a reboot just in case, and after that I cant connect at all.
SmartConsole says: "General error".
Where did I go wrong? My next step if I had been able to connect would be:
Go to the SmartEvent Policy tab > Correlation Units , double -click the new Correlation Unit object.
Additionally, we had to activate SmartLog, to make it apparently work.
I found sk110894, but I am unsure if I need to run $RTDIR/scripts/SmartEvent_R80_change_dbsync_mode.sh for R77.30 MDS as well.
Additionally, we had to activate SmartLog, to make it apparently work.
Hi Mate,
Am in a similar situation,
Created a R80 host object globally, enabled smart log as well.
When u did a install database did u get the new R80 host in the list to install the database? coz I see the domain management server only in the list.
Problem is when I try to login to that R80 using smart console it gives me general error.
Would appreciate if you can reply, TIA.
Regards
Ravi
If you get General Error, you need to launch Smart Center as Administrator. There is an SK giving some details.
