End Of Support around the corner (May 2021)
Hi mates
I came across a deployment where /var/log/tmp is filled with empty directories with the naming "CPDepInst_<string>" where <string> seems to be a random string (e.g. Lx6767).
I found them on Security Management Server and Security Gateways. OS is Gaia R80.30 with Jumbo 196. From the timestamps it seems that several of these directories are created every day.
Before I open a TAC case, has anyone seen this and maybe knows what creates these directories?
Thanks!
Kilian
These directories are created as part of Check Point's check for updates processes. The issue you are describing where these directories are not being cleaned up is a known issue that should be fixed in the coming couple of weeks.
You can safely remove these directories.
Has this issue been resolved yet with a GA Jumbo Hotfix yet? I am running R80.30 with take 219 and am still experiencing this.
Even if it should be fixed in this JHF, a TAC case is probably in order.
Hi guys,
This issue was fixed for all machines receiving automatic updates and in Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R80.30 starting from Take 221.
A fix for all other environments can been seen in sk170237.
