Couple of ways:

1) cpstop; cpstart

2) run -> ps -auxw

look for process ID (pid) of pdp process, then run kill -9 PID

example from my lab with IA enabled:

[Expert@LAB-TEST-FW:0]# ps -auxw | grep pdp
admin 2294 0.0 0.0 2644 576 pts/1 S+ 08:19 0:00 grep --color=auto pdp
admin 21741 0.0 0.2 251428 42360 ? Sl Oct24 24:25 pdpd 0 -t

So if I was to terminate it, would run kill -9 21741

Please specify the version in use, and also explain what do you mean by saying "huge firewall utilization". What is it, CPU, memory, etc.?
