Max memory supported 13800

I'm wondering what the maximum supported memory is for the 13800 appliance.

I know you can buy the 64GB expansion SKU (CPAC-RAM64GB-13000) but after installation there are still RAM slots available.
Can you add extra RAM, will it work, is it supported?

If the hardware configuration / population was never QA tested or supplied by Check Point it is outside the support process and at your own risk.

We had 12400's that are stated to support 12GB, we ran them with 24GB just fine. The 13800 is stated to support 64GB but if you have compatible memory just put it in and test.

Though it might work this won't be a supported configuration for production use as would involve breaking the warranty seal etc.

Note the 13000 appliances & accessories are end of sale status meaning they are no longer available for purchase.

Moreover 3rd party components are not permitted from a support perspective.

We already had to break the seal on one of our RMA replacements since it came with the default memory config and not the HPP config.

Is it really considered a 3rd party component if you just add the exact same memory as is used now?
