In case you run HyperThreading on Open Servers, which was supported until this morning, you might want to note that Check Point just recalled support for it.

Hi,

Check Point did not withdraw its support of SMT/Hyperthreading on open server.

We do have a limitation in our current versions which do not allow turning SMT/Hyperthreading on/off via a simple CLI command which is highly important for SMT support.

It will be introduced in a future release, and the relevant sk will then be updated with clear instructions on how to enable/disable SMT

@shais

there should be too a statement regarding the licensing of CPU cores on open server platform. There are different informations available here in the community, from distribution partner and from Check Point account team.

Following sk156793 it's no problem with R80.40 to enable SMT and double your CPUs with the same license, but how about R81 and future releases?

I think that was a copy and past mistake in the article. The description in item 4 has been in SK for years. I think that was not properly revised.
