Use a LAN SWITCH as an internet interface in Checkpoint 1450 appliance?

Hello folks,

Is there a way to use one of the LAN port for internet ? in Checkpoint 1450 when I try to add an internet connection it only shows type as WAN and DMZ so i want to know whether there's a way to add/use a LAN port interface for an additional internet connection?

Thanks in advance,

Shehan

No, that is not possible - see Check Point 1100/1200R/1400 Appliances Locally Managed Administration Guide R77.20.75 p.38 for details! To sum all up, you havethe possibility of 3-4 ISPs:

- two ports for Internet Connections: WAN and DMZ

- one USB / Serial for cellular or analog modems

- (when model is equiped with) one ADSL / VDSL port

I wish we could set a VLAN interface as Internet. For small sites means we only need one physical cable with everything on it. Well actually we can do it, it just doesn't allow us to add a default route. (Can be worked around by adding policy routes)
