Hello everybody,

Can You help me?

I believe you need to request via email to gpl-source@checkpoint.com

How long does the GPL preparation procedure take?

Where did you learn that the CP SMB models SG-80 / 600 have the firmware under GPL ? I would have assumed that its main software is copyrighted as all CP software (except the open source parts like busybox). You can also contact your local CP SE with your question.

I learned from bootlog. Checkpoint 600 L-50WD SG-80A uses Linux, U-boot etc. This software is licensed under GPL license. So I can request the source code for GPL parts of Checkpoint code and they should provide me with open code, compiler and all other license requirements. U-boot and Kernel code are most important for me. I don't want to get any copyrighted source code.

I only want Checkpoint to fulfill the requirements from the license they are bound to.

Yes, i know that CP uses standard Linux U-Boot, Busybox etc. I just see not much sense in your request - but that is my personal point of view.

I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure we only have to provide the source code for the relevant bits, not a compiler.
If you could forward any communications you may have received to me via PM or email to phoneboy AT checkpoint DOT com, I'll do some further checking.

I did not get the GPL source code, so I reverse engineered it. I prepare OpenWRT support for this hardware.

Every suggestions are welcome.

I still did not get any answer. CheckPoint is violating GPL licence.

I ask Wolfgang Denk for help.
