Hi,

R80.30 Jumbo HF Take #19 is now our GA take.

This take will be available for download to all via CPUSE (as recommended) and via sk153152

Release Highlight:

  • 1st Jumbo supported for R80.30 Main train release
  • Fix for TCP SACKK security Alert
  • Important Note:
    • This Jumbo does not support 16K and 26K appliances series (Linux 3.10)
    • The next Jumbo that will be released in the upcoming weeks will add support to these appliances as well.

Additional information can be found in sk153152

Thanks,

RLM Group

Hello,

Why there are 2 CPUSE offline packages which have exactly the same name and hashes on the download pages? Both pages says this package is only for Management purposes ... No more downloading and importing wrong jumbo package and distinguish which one is for GW and which one for MGMT ? 🙂

Anyway, the hashes are not identical:

MD5:
GW - 19ea250a394c7eb4d96e9aee8a2ca0be
MGMT - 54d7d7d94ed72018ee262b93f1dc9447

SHA1:
GW - e7531e2be2d7f50b7f42daf105b1723e858d1004
MGMT - 2a99f483b81a9c47551a4dffea8fd7541f4737b7

SHA-256:
GW - 558f59c64e122d6147fa7deb0a319aecd9ec56c7c6d5bf1a352ed50c095c89db
MGMT - 3d8e4398d7ef39c4613ae44a46a8f09845b1b88576f28f8a0872f84b01bfa9ad

What about to somehow a little bit more distinguish which Jumbo package is for Gateway and which one for Management ?

Somehow separate both packages within R80.x Jumbo homepages ? Rename file names where will be written _ONLY_FOR_MANAGEMENT ?

This is an example for R80.20 jumbo filenames:
GW       - Check_Point_R80_20_JUMBO_HF_Bundle_T87_sk137592_FULL.tgz
MGMT - Check_Point_R80_20_JUMBO_HF_Bundle_T87_sk137592_GL_FULL.tgz
How on earth I am supposed to say which filename is for GW and which one for MGMT ? Only based on "GL" in the filename ?

What is the point to have 2 different packages ? Only reduce the size of files ?

The best way would be to create 2 jumbo homepages, the one dedicated only for Gateways, the second only for Management. Both jumbo packages can be handled separately, independently.

Please consider my suggestions here.

Thank you.

Thanks @JozkoMrkvicka  for your inputs.

Each package has a different kernel version( 2.6 vs. 3.10 ) , this is the reason for 2 different packages

We will consider to change the name of the files to distinguished between GW and Mgmt installations in our next Jumbo.

Thanks,

Yifat

Hello,

It will be 2 weeks which I addressed this issue and till now, no progress has been made for R80.30 jumbo hotfixes for GW and MGMT. Both packages say: "This package is suitable for Management machine only." In addition to that, the hashes are completely the same on the page for both packages.

Hi @JozkoMrkvicka

Following your comment above, we would like to inform that we have updated the file names to be more clear.

The new files names are:

Check_Point_R80_20_JUMBO_HF_Bundle_T103_sk137592_Security_Gateway_and_Standalone_2_6_18_FULL.tgz

Check_Point_R80_20_JUMBO_HF_Bundle_T103_sk137592_Security_Management_3_10_FULL.tgz

Hi @MeravAlon ,

Thank you very much! Keep the same file name convention for R80.30 & R80.40 🙂

Very appreciated.

Sure. Already done for R80.30 Jumbo HF files. The same convention will be used also for R80.40
