URL redirection sk on R80.10

Hi,

has anyone used sk40348 on R80.10 yet? It's about URL redirection which we used for http://owa.company.com towards https://owa.company.com/owa

We used this in a R77.30 gateway and it worked. Now we upgraded this gateway to R80.10 and this redirection no longer works. At another site we also have R80.10 and tried to configure redirection for a new setup and it also fails. Has this been tested on R80.10 yet?

Kind regards,

J

This feature relies on the HTTP Security Server, which is largely been deprecated.

I do not believe this will work on R80.x gateways.

I logged a ticket for this and they immediately said the same: "deprecated feature" and won't work on R80.

I asked for a workaround but there isn't really one other than doing a port nat and changing http towards https. That helps but is still harder for endusers as they still have to type /owa at the end of the URL.

This URL redirect feature was pretty handy but now it's over

Why deprecate such useful feature as url redirect? bad idea to upgrade R80.10. Hard to understand Smiley Sad

The capability is still there, it's just the mechanism for doing so is different than documented in the SK.

While I haven't personally tried this, the following should work:

  • Create a custom Application with the URL in question
  • Create a rule for that application that says block with a custom UserCheck action that redirects to the desired URL.

You could try the Reverse proxy feature in R77.30/R80.10 - sk110348

Tnx, that does looks good if you have the mobile access license.

I don't have the time to try it out now but might in the future.
