Check out sk111841 if you want to do 80.10.

Grab the ISO from there.

Create a new virtual machine and have it boot from the ISO and follow the prompts to install it.

I mean, we already have an OS installed in a SeaMicro as VSX management, we need to convert it to a ova or vm itself.

vtlikinio,

- do a backup of your existing MDS

- install fresh MDS as virtual machine in VMware with same name and IP

- install same Hotfixes as on the original

- copy the backup to the new machine

- restore the backup

Ready to start.

Is there no way to get the existing MDS to be converted to VM instead of fresh install?

Re: How to extract GAIA OS in VMWARE Converter?

The canonical way to do this is do a migrate export of your existing MDS and migrate import it into a freshly installed VM.
While you’re at it, you should upgrade to R80.20 or R80.30, which will leverage a newer Linux kernel and newer filesystem.
You will only get the new filesystem through a fresh install.
