Unable to install R80.10 on VMware workstation

Hi all !

I want to try R810.10 on my computer in Vmware Workstation 12, but after installing Management Center I get this error in GUI Clients Section (User Management - GUI Clients):

Management Server cannot be reached. Check your management configuration and try again.

Also when  I try connect to installed Management center via SmartDashboard and also take error:

Unable to connect to server

What happening ? Why I can`t normal install CheckPoint ?

Early I successfully played with CheckPoint R77.30 (Management and Gateway).

Regards,

Vassili

Depending on CPU/Memory it can take quite a while before you can login for the first time as the database is being built.  After install use "top" command to watch for CPU to die down to almost nothing and then try to login.

Increasing the memory made the trick.

Hi all !

This is kind of magic ! It`s worked !

Install R80.10 management on Vmware Workstation 12.5 use this parameters:

Guest Operating System - Other Linux 2.6.x kernel 64-bit

Memory - 4GB

Processors - 2

Hard Disk (SCSI) - 90GB (Preallocated)

After complete web configuraton of Gaia portal need reboot, and hooray ! It`s worked !

Also trying install R80.10 on Oracle Virtual Box 5.1 with this parameters:

Guest Operating system - Linux 2.6 / 3.x / 4.x (64-bit)

Base Memory - 4096 MB

Processors - 2

Controller - SATA (87Gb)

And it`s alsow worked !

Thanks all for answers !

Vassili

4GB of RAM doesn't meet the minimum requirements for R80.10 management.

6GB of RAM is considered the bare minimum, more is better.

I want to help you.

Can you elaborate,

Where and when did you get the white screen , and what was the operation ?

Thanks

Dan

It works with 6GB, but in my experience it will be a big headache. If you have the RAM, go with 8GB.

Installed R80.10 management only running on VM workstation, 6GIG (8GIG suggested), 4 Core, using RHEL 5 - 64bit, 60GIG HDD (100GIG suggested).  Once you get the "LOGIN" prompt, another 3,4,5 minutes to get access to the WEBui is needed.

I guess the big question is: what is best. RHEL 5 or Other Linux 2.6.x kernel 64-bit.

I've always used RHEL5, but have seen similar issues.

List of gui-clients can be modified by cpconfig as well

and now to something completely different - CCVS, CCAS, CCTE, CCCS, CCSM elite

Thank you for your suggestions. I have the gui-clients file and still can't login.

Using the "cpconfig" command didn't help either. Please see below.

Any help would be much appreciated.
