R80.20 Management Feature Release Abandoned?

The boast of the R80.20 Mgmt Feature Release back in June of 2018 was (per sk123473):

"Check Point further enhances its Security Management with new features, stability fixes and more frequent releases"

AND

"Management Feature Releases are designed for customers who want to access and use the latest available Security Management capabilities"

AND

"Check Point plans to publish a new version of the R80.20.Mx release every couple of months"

But here were are 8 months since the last release, and can't get fixes for issues as all the time and focus at Check Point seems to still be on R80.10. What gives?

More generally than one-off case: It is built in to the fact that we are committed to have all content included in next-after maintrain.

So by definition, there is no longer value in the M once the next maintrain GA

You are welcome to challenge us but the intent was always to have M release for fast delivery with jumbo only after moving to the next maintrain (ttbomk we clearly documented that we will not have jumbo on M releases)

in short: M releases are “bridge” of faster delivery of functions between releases and the route from them is to upgrade to maintrain (they will never become default and will not carry independent jumbo release)

Use it ONLY if you need it immediately. As soon as the next maintrain appear, use the next maintrain and the feature release is not needed any more.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, I enjoyed your talk at CPX this year.

I wasn't aware that the M has now been superseded by R80.30, but I see that on the Release Map now. Thank you for the clarification.

To be clear, Management Feature releases are only developed for the most recent GA release.
As R80.30 is the current release, there will be no more Management Feature releases for R80.20.
All of the R80.20.Mx content is available in R80.30.

Anyone considering installing R80.20.Mx releases at this point should instead be installing R80.30.
