Smartconsole force closes

so below is the lab topology wher i have the mgmt win 10 vm connected to the NY-sms which is the mgmt server-

gns3 lab.png

So the problem is as soon as i open smartconsole from the mgmt win 10 vm it closes after a few minbutes sa im setting it up for the first time with me not being able to proceed with my lab and a while back i was able to complete about 60 percent of the course and did not have any such problems although it was maybe because i was using an older gns3 and vmware versions but anyways right now with the updated and latest versions of the gns3 and vmware im stuck with this smartconsole issue(dont know if it really is because of the updated versions of gns3 and vmware or something else) so yeah i need to proceed fast and need to get this smartconsole to work!! So someone please help!! Have been stuck here for a few days searching for solutions but to no avail with a lot of hours wasted as well!!

Below is the error message-

OK update on this problem here, so looks like this is an issue with gns3 itself, i downloaded and tried out R80.20 as well and was facing the same problem with that, so i downgraded my gns3 from 2.2.3 to the same one i used before aka 2.2.0 and now i can finally proceed although i must keep labbing more to see if the problem arises again, but so far so good! So at least for now looks like Gns3 is to blame!

Open a SR# with TAC, this does not look good at all ! You did mention no versions nor builds nor jumbos so you maybe will get no quick answer...

It is R80.10 and will tac be able to help since this is a lab?

As long as you have a valid support contract they will. If this is a POC your local SE could help.

Hi,

From the network diagram it seems there should not be any connectivity issues between the SmartConsole and the Security Management Server.

It might be related to Security Management Server machine resources. Can you share how much memory and vCPUs the VM has?

Thanks

Tal

so ram being used by the NY-sms-1 (the mgmt server) is 4096 mb and vcpus is 2, ive increased vcpus to 4 now and will try it again although im pretty sure it will be the same.

You keep mentioning gnsX.
What is this?
Also your management server VM should have no less than 8gb of RAM allocated to it.

wait, its gns3 the network emulator?? or maybe you are confused? and no it is definitely an issue with gns3 as ive already tried increasing the ram to even 10gb(for the sms) in fact and the problem would still persist and right now with gns3 2.2.0 its working perfectly fine with 4gb ram and 4 vcpus for the sms.
