Route-maps are typically used to filter/control the redistribution of routing information

What is the context behind wanting to remove a route in this instance?

Thanks. The issue is we have vpn-rtr has BGP established with firewall-external. We should have BGP route on Firewall-external from vpn-rtr. And Firewall-external has ospf relation with Firewall-Internal. We should have BGP route on Firwall-external and inject ospf route to Firewall-internal and then to internal network. But some reason the BGP route got deleted and ospf route stays on both firewall learning from each other. To bring back BGP route we need to delete this ospf route. We are also not sure why this BGP route got deleted? May be checkpoint code issue R80.20 T-191? Since no route (bgp route) between vpn-rtr and Firewall-external traffic is keek looping between both firewalls. To work around i added a static route on firewall-external to vpn-rtr. when I delete this static route BGP route come back all look normal. But again BGP route gone. Not sure why this BGP route keep deleting.

OSPF is a dynamic routing protocol, which means that routes are being advertised by its neighbors. You cannot delete OSPF neighbors from the routing table, but you can prevent its neighbor from sending it or prevent a specifc route to be installed into the routing table by using a routemap or inbound traffic filtering rules. Check the advanced routing guide relevant for your version for details.
